Are you driven to provide the best possible outcomes for young people with special needs?
Are you caring, flexible and resilient?
We are looking for a Learning Mentor with an interest in special needs education to join us at Garratt Park. You may be an experienced mentor, behaviour support or learning support assistant with previous experience of working with young people. You would be working with a pastoral team in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning in small groups or 1:1 situations.
We have a supportive body of staff and everyone is automatically a member of the Employee Benefit Scheme with a range of external support and discount offers. We would also be able to offer training and development opportunities for the right candidate.
Garratt Park School is a special school for children and young people aged 11-19 who have moderate learning difficulties, along with other special needs disabilities including Autism, SCLN, sensory impairments and a small number with more complex needs. We are situated in the inner London borough of Wandsworth and most of our students come from the local area, from diverse backgrounds with around one third entitled to free school meals. Earlsfield is well served by public transport with easy access to the city centre.
Interested candidates are encouraged to visit our friendly and welcoming school. Please contact Janice Button at recruitment@garrattpark.wandsworth.sch.uk to arrange this.
To apply please download an application pack from the Wandsworth Council website which can be found via the ‘visit website’ button at the top of this page.
Completed application should be returned to the school either by email - recruitment@garrattpark.wandsworth.sch.uk or post.
Closing date: 16 June 2023 (at noon)
Interview date: week beginning 19 June 2023
Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
