Job overview

The Alton School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Mentor. You will bring with you an in depth knowledge of how to bring those hard to reach children out of their shell and help them learn and make progress at school.

Salary: £18,486 – £20,259 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 36 hours per week. Term time only (39 weeks)
Contract: Full Time, permanent

We have a strong inclusive and supportive ethos, experienced teaching assistants in each class, a well-resourced curriculum and fabulous children.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • The ability to work as a team player under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher (Leader for Inclusion) to work with pupils who have barriers to learning;
  • High expectations in children’s learning and behaviour;
  • A vision and passionate commitment to high quality learning and teaching;
  • Enthusiasm and energy for the role;
  • A high standard of basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Previous experience is desirable.
