We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Learning Mentor to work at the Stanground Academy.

The successful post holder will be required to work as a Learning Mentor, taking booster groups of pupils to help overcome barriers to learning and also cover classes in the absence of the Class Teacher, including unplanned absence and/or planned absence due to the allocation of PPA time.  They will work alongside the Class Teachers to plan and teach exciting and engaging learning opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their teaching skills whilst working in a supportive environment. To be successful you must be able to demonstrate:

• excellent communication skills

• the ability to relate to and engage with a wide range of pupils

• great organisational skills

• high standards in terms of achievement and behaviour.

The new Stanground Academy opened on 1 April 2012 and is one of the Greenwood Academies Trust’s Group of Academies, replacing the predecessor Stanground College.
