Help create an outstanding learning environment for our students

We are looking for a committed, organised and approachable Learning Resource Centre Assistant to play a key role in the day-to-day running of the Learning Resource Centre at New College Bradford.

At the heart of college life, our Learning Resource Centre provides students with the resources, facilities and support they need to learn independently and achieve their best. You will help ensure it is a welcoming, well-organised and effective learning environment, providing a high standard of customer service to students and staff while promoting everything the Learning Resource Centre has to offer.

You will manage and monitor learning resources, support the Library Management System, help students and colleagues make effective use of facilities and IT equipment, coordinate room bookings and assist with a range of administrative activities. You will also work closely with teaching staff to make sure resources support curriculum needs and help develop inductions and self-help materials for Learning Resource Centre users.

About you

You will bring experience of using computerised administration systems and a computerised library database, together with a good understanding of library cataloguing and classification. Strong IT skills, attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities are important, as is a genuine customer-service approach.

You will be confident communicating with students, colleagues and other stakeholders, able to solve problems and use your own initiative while contributing positively to a wider team. Most importantly, you will have a supportive and empathetic approach to young people and be enthusiastic about contributing to an ambitious educational environment.
