Preston Manor is an all-through Co-operative School located in the highly diverse and vibrant London borough of Brent. We are part of an established network of schools and work collabo-ratively with local schools. We are a large learning community with students from ages 4-19 years old and our curriculum expands across six key stages. Our focus on holistic wellbeing, along with teaching and learning, means that progress and development takes place both within the classroom and beyond for students and staff alike. The school is situated within sight of the iconic Wembley Stadium, and provides access to all that Wembley has to offer. The school benefits from fantastic links both through public transport and by car.  It is a short 10 minute walk from Wembley Park and Preston Road Underground Stations and a 10 minute bus journey from North Wembley Station. The Metropolitan, Jubilee and Baker-loo lines as well as the London Overground/Network rail are within easy reach of the school. Central London locations can easily be reached within 20 minutes from the School.  The school is also accessible to major motorways (M25, M1, M40 and A40 etc.).  

Learning Resource Centre Manager (All Through School 4 -18)

Required for September 2017 

36 hours per week – Term time plus inset days + 1 week outside of term

Salary – Scale SO2, Spinal Point 32 - 34 (£28,485 - £30,153 pro rata)

plus London Weighting (£1,848 pro rata) circa (£27,226 – £28,723 inclusive LW)

We are looking for an inspiring Learning Resource Centre Manager to be responsible for the management of the school LRC (Learning Resource Centre), across both Upper & Lower School

As a LRC Manager you will be responsible for providing a stimulating and friendly atmosphere to encourage a love of learning and literacy.  Key priorities include promoting a love of reading for pleasure, ensuring effective and productive literacy intervention and being part of the whole school literacy strategy. 

We are looking for an innovative individual who has good literacy, numeracy and communication skills as well as initiative, flexibility, a sense of humour and the ability to relate to children from a variety of ages and needs. We are particularly keen to hear from experienced librarians, graduates who are looking to go into the teaching profession or experienced teachers who are no longer in the classroom.  Experience of working with young people of secondary age would be an advantage.

Preston Manor School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through state school with academy status, based in Wembley, north-west London, for children aged 4-18. It is a member of the family of Co-operative Trust Schools. It is a large school with approximately 1,900 pupils. Situated within a multicultural community, the school offers additional support for pupils who speak English as an additional language. Diversity and tolerance is a key message in its ethos.

Celebrating its 75th year in 2013, Preston Manor School enjoys rich alumni involvement and has an active Old Manorians alumni association. The school has achieved a “good” rating from Ofsted.
