We are seeking to appoint a Learning Resource Centre Manager (Librarian) within our school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Leaders and relevant staff, as part of a specialist team including teachers, support staff and a range of other professionals to support the learning and welfare of our children. The role will involve management of the Learning Resource Centre on a day-to-day basis as an open access learning area for all students. The post holder will provide an environment for study and pleasure with access to, and use of, all resources during the school day. Ensuring that all resources are up to date and accessible for all.

The post holder will join at an exciting time for the school as they will be able to develop and grow our school library into an attractive, vibrant learning space.  The Academy Trust have just shared plans for the development of the library into a modern, resource centre that students are excited to visit and study. The new post holder would be very much part of formulating these plans with our designers in creating the right feel for this space. The role involves coordinating all activities in the library area, supervising students using the space in their non-lesson time and working with the Head of English to further develop the love of reading in school. The library has a significant budget so the ability to manage a budget and achieve best value for the school, good record keeping and someone who can build strong relationships is important.
