We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated, committed and organised professional with high level interpersonal skills to manage, develop and promote our library – this will form a key pillar of our literacy strategy.  The successful applicant will provide a welcoming and stimulating environment that effectively contributes to delivery of the curriculum and will have a desire to contribute to independent learning by supporting students in developing study and research skills, making use of appropriate learning resources and encouraging reading for pleasure.  


In addition the successful candidate will develop and promote the LRC as a centre for student engagement through extra curricular activities before and after school and at lunchtimes


The successful candidate will have a role in supporting our literacy strategy. 


This is an exciting opportunity for someone with energy and enthusiasm, enhanced by clear organisational skills and an ability to work with students and staff.  Previous library experience or working in a school environment would be an advantage.


The position is both a student centred and administrative role which will be based within our learning resource centre. The successful candidate must be:

Applicants should have at least a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.


Candidates should be suitably skilled in numeracy, literacy and ICT and have GCSE passes in Mathematics and English at grade C or above. Candidates should have experience of interacting with young people preferably in an educational setting.
