An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us at an early stage in the redevelopment of our 

Learning Resource Hub, a key learning environment which includes the school library, used by students and staff across the whole school. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is passionate about reading and can assist us in our mission to place literacy firmly at the centre of our students’ learning experience. You will work with key staff to ensure a welcoming and stimulating LRH, where students can discover new literature and develop a love of language and an enthusiasm for reading for life. We welcome your ideas to encourage participation in book clubs and engage readers of all abilities.  

We have a new, user friendly, library system which we are looking to embed across the school, and you will work with subject leads to provide engaging resources which contribute to the wider curriculum.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will:

• Be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in all aspects of school life.

• Be self motivated.

• Be able to motivate and engage students.

• Be confident working with young people from 11 to 18.

• Have personal drive and enthusiasm to promote reading for pleasure and literacy across the school, having a keen interest in literature for young people.

• Be able to work collaboratively with teaching colleagues.

• Be able to accurately enter and retrieve data information from information systems.

• Have good organisation and time management skills

The Details

To Start: January 2022

Hours:   36 hours a week, 39 weeks of the year, 5 days per week (working pattern 8:00 to 16:00 plus 30 minutes unpaid break per day) 

Salary:   GLF Specialist Salary Range £22,000 to £31,000 (£18,926 to £26,669 pro rata).
Starting point to be determined based on experience and qualifications
