Learning Resources Centre Manager

We are looking for a talented and highly effective individual to join us as our LRC Manager.

The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the Christian and non-Christian communities within the city and surrounding areas including The Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Bridgend. Standards of achievement at all levels are exceptionally high, with outcomes consistently performing amongst the best schools in Wales and rest of the UK. About the role

All support staff play a crucial role in supporting learning within the school. As our LRC Manager, the successful candidate will support staff, particularly within the English team, in developing students’ love for reading. As a result, this will support the developing of this core skill, which underpins all learning. English is a very popular and successful subject at The Bishop of Llandaff. Standards at all key stages are exceptionally high and students are very enthusiastic towards the subject. Across all key stages, performance places the school well above modelled expectations, as seen over a sustained period. The quality of teaching and learning within the English department is consistently very strong. The successful applicant would be joining a very strong team of highly effective teachers, with a broad range of experiences. The LRC is based in the main teaching block of the school. The environment is busy (as you would imagine in a school!) but a friendly atmosphere of work. The role would suit someone with a passion for working with young people and, equally important, the love of reader development (both as a hobby and for learning).
