St Thomas More Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Resources Manager to join our busy, hardworking Academy.

The main purposes of the role are:

• To manage and oversee all matters relating to the smooth and efficient operation of the school library 

• To be responsible for the acquisition and management of library materials and the development of the library as a learning resource centre in accordance with the demands of the school’s curriculum and educational policies. 

• To ensure that staff and students are aware of the services available and to encourage maximum use of the library resources and the potential of the library as a centre for learning. 

• To contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of students. 


St Thomas More is a small popular Catholic 11 to 16 High School in the beautiful town of Buxton in Derbyshire; within easy access from Cheshire, Manchester, Staffordshire and Stockport as well as Derbyshire and other surrounding areas. The school converted to become an Academy in September 2018 and is a member of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.

A commitment to play an active part in the extra-curricular life of the school is essential.
