We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, resourceful and self-motivated Learning Supervisor to join our valued team of support staff. If you are an effective team player with a positive and proactive approach to work then we would like to hear from you.

Although full-time is preferred, we will also consider part-time and flexible working requests for this post. Working within an established and multi-skilled team, the successful candidate will provide high quality cover supervision across the school, delivering a variety of lessons or learning activities in the absence of a teacher. This will involve taking responsibility for the supervision of classes and enabling pre-set work to be completed in instances of temporary teacher absence. When not covering for short-term absence, the successful candidate will assist in supporting pupils’ learning in other areas of the school, as required.

To be successful in this application, you must be able to demonstrate flexibility and initiative and show that you can motivate, engage and inspire pupils of all ages and abilities and actively contribute to the high expectations and achievements of the school. Previous classroom experience overseeing pupils’ learning across a range of curriculum subjects and delivering learning activities or cover lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils would be a distinct advantage. This is an excellent opportunity for a colleague looking to gain experience and thrive in a classroom-based role.

As a very popular, high-achieving and oversubscribed 11-16 girls’ Academy with approx. 1000 pupils on roll, we have a reputation for outstanding pupil outcomes, teaching and learning. Fairfield High School for Girls is a non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 academy for girls, situated in Droylsden in Manchester. The school, which converted to an academy in 2011, has 981 girls on its roll. 

Fairfield High School is one of the oldest all-girls schools in the country; in was founded in 1796, when Sister Mary Tyrrell opened a small girls' boarding school. In September 2004, as part of the Specialist Schools Programme, the secondary school became a Science College.
