Welcome

The Nursery (12 months-3 years), Junior School (ages 3-11) and the Senior School (ages 11-18) are all housed in picturesque buildings set in their own grounds with specialist facilities. This unique situation allows pupils to benefit from the continuity of teaching and learning, as well as providing them with the opportunity to grow and develop on different sites which are best suited to their age group. It is our main aim that pupils should continually develop their individual talents and personal qualities. In academic terms, we aim to help every individual to fulfil his or her potential.

This is achieved through skilled, dedicated and enthusiastic teaching in small classes, differentiating the expectation for each pupil. The school also believes in the education of the whole child – so Art, Drama, Music and Sport all play a vital part. Akeley Wood is a happy and caring school with an unpretentious approach. There is a strong emphasis on good manners, a friendly discipline, and looking after others.
