About the role

Can you enrich the lives of young people as a Learning Support Assistant?

Vision for Education are working in partnership with an extremely supportive and reputable client group with schools across the UK, and we are looking for responsible, caring and experienced Learning Support Assistants to join their fantastic teaching team at their 'good' school in Barton-upon-Humber.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support their children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.  The school offers a purpose-built service specially designed to meet the needs of their children and young people aged 8-19 years with specialist needs including autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, and associated difficulties.

This is a great opportunity to start or continue your career in teaching, working as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a setting where they maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where children and young people are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will have an essential and varied role providing individual and bespoke support to their learners.  You will chaperone the children to appointments and activities such as shopping or trips to the zoo, complete relevant paperwork, deliver personal care, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who shares the organisations vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a school setting would be great but is not essential as full training will be given
  • Experience of supporting young people with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, and/or associated difficulties is essential
  • Ideally you will hold a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Possess strong values with the motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience to support these children and young people
  • A calm nature, deliver engaging support and show resilience
  • In return our client offer a friendly and inclusive working environment and the chance to be part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team, who work hard and support each other to deliver personalised, bespoke education & care

Their benefits package includes:

  • A competitive salary
  • Access to content on mindfulness, fitness, recipes and much more as part of their ‘Your Wellbeing Matters’ programme
  • As well as opportunities for internal promotion, you will have access to high-quality Continuing Professional Development to help pursue your own personal goals. They offer accredited training programmes including Diplomas and NVQs, supplemented by ongoing learning opportunities
  • Free parking
  • Shopping discounts and cashback via their ‘Rewards Hub’

Vision for Education are committed to safeguarding children and young people. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
