Peasedown St John Primary School is looking to employ a flexible and dedicated professional with classroom experience  as well as supporting pupils with additional needs.

You will be working alongside the class teachers  to provide a high standard of support to all children, with smaller group intervention work as required.

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has the following attributes:

A variety of communication skills to respond to the needs of the child.

Empathy and understanding of children’s individual learning abilities

Patience and a good sense of humour

Flexibility to work with children aged 4- 11 years, across EYFS to Year 5 based on experience.

Willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care

Peasedown St John Primary School was built in 1913.  It is a large, lively, vibrant school for approximately 600 children aged 2 - 11 years. Our aim is "achieving excellence for ourselves and others" and this vision permeates all that we do.

Children who come to our school receive good teaching and make good progress, but there is much more to it.  We provide a wide range of opportunities for children to develop their musical, sporting and language abilities, as well as many other irresistible learning experiences - all designed to make children enjoy their primary school years in an atmosphere where every child can flourish.

During their time with us children are nurtured as individuals.  We work hard to develop in them lifelong learning skills and behaviours, as well as self-respect and respect for others. The best way to judge our success in achieving this is by visiting the school and meeting the children.

The school is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership trust, which we joined in April 2019. This is a large local trust, bringing together a diversity of primary, secondary and special schools to work in the best interests of all the children in our area.
