Learning Support Assistant (Behaviour Improvement) 

35 hours per week, term time only (including 5 training days per year)  

Salary: Grade 4 £15,236 (point 17) to £17,264 (point 21) per annum- actual salary  

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust with Manchester City Council as co-sponsor. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and is now amongst the most popular schools in the city, showing significant academic improvement, a rapidly expanding student population and growing sixth form provision.  Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help us achieve this ambition.

We currently have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant with a specific focus on behaviour improvement to support the learning of students with additional, special educational or behaviour needs in lessons and in small intervention groups.  Suitable candidates will therefore have previous experience of working with challenging and demotivated children/young people in an educational setting, to reengage them in learning.  You must be able to co-ordinate and organise resources effectively and possess the ability to motivate students, acting as a positive role model for individuals and groups of students.  

As a member of the Academy’s Student Support Team you will support our students to achieve their challenging targets. The role will be subject to completion of a successful 6 month probationary period.
