Job overview

Working arrangements: 40 hours per week, worked between 07:30am and 6:00pm with an unpaid break. This position is term time plus 6 weeks.

Term dates, please note our terms are shorter than in state schools and therefore there would be the ability to work the 6 additional worked weeks around this if required.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant with a relevant childcare qualification (minimum level 3), experience of working with children aged 4-7 years and an ability to demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of EYFS and Key Stage 1.

With a positive and flexible disposition and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning across the curriculum, the successful candidate will be child focused with a clear understanding of their safeguarding responsibilities.

The ability to communicate effectively with both children and colleagues and work under instruction as well as independently is essential and will be assessed during interview.

The key responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work closely and under the direction of the Class Teacher, to support with the delivery of high standard education provision. 
  • Supervise children at various times throughout the day.
  • Work with small groups and individual children as directed by the Class Teacher 
  • To support pupils during co-curricular activities and accompanying school trips, including supporting pupil residential visits if required. 
  • To support in the provision of wrap around care supporting breakfast club, afterschool care and holiday club provisions as directed.

Hallfield School is a flourishing co-educational Prep School, renowned for the quality of its extended curriculum and excellent academic reputation.
