Lansdown Park Academy are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to the Stockwood site.  The purpose of the job is to provide support for learning activities for students on an individual or group basis under the general direction of Assistant Head.  To provide an holistic approach to meeting Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of pupils, enabling young people to positively engage and make progress. 

Support for Children’s Learning: 

Under the guidance of the teaching staff and the Assistant Head, provide direct support for learning of individual children and groups of children within a class.  To promote the attainment of standards in learning and behaviour, wellbeing and relationships across the academy.  

- Supporting activities and interventions on a 1:1 and small groups

- Facilitating children’s general physical, emotional and educational development

- Supervising and encouraging safe behaviour of individual and groups of pupils throughout the day. 

- Support pupils in positive engagement of learning habits

- Provide class and 1:1 support for pupils

Support for interventions across the Academy: 

- Support 1:1 or small group interventions with pupils as directed by the Assistant Head / Class Teacher. 

- Support the Assistant Head in providing reports to support progress, attainment and needs of the pupil. 

Support for the Learning Environment: 

-Under the guidance of the Assistant Head, prepare, store and retrieve, sort and display materials, finished work, equipment that assists in providing an effective learning environment. 

- Assist in the development, monitoring, reviewing and progression of children’s individual learning and support plans. 

- Support assessment processes 

Care and Support for pupils: 

Attend the day to day needs of children across the academy by 

- Supporting and encouraging pupils with safe behaviour inside and outside the classroom

- Support the reinforcement of positive learning so that pupils thrive at the best of their abilities. 

- Provide 1:1 interventions and support as defines by professionals such as Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Doctor, Speech Language and Educational Psychologist. 

- Report any concerns about pupils via CPOMS
