Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: The Greater Horseshoe School, Heathfield, Devon
Salary: up to £21,557.57 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Mon/Wed/Thur/Fr 8.30am-3.45pm, Tue 8.30am-5pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Must be UK based.
The Greater Horseshoe School is an independent special school for pupils aged 8 to 18 years old. The school is situated in a peaceful woodland setting near Newton Abbot in Devon.
Our school facilities are complemented by our nearby care farm, where we offer animal care, horticulture and a wide range of outdoor educational activities alongside academic and vocational programmes.

Our approach is caring, positive and adaptable, and is underpinned by a thorough theoretical knowledge. Our staff come from relevant educational and therapeutic backgrounds and have extensive experience of supporting young people with a range of needs.
About the role
You will be required to deliver the highest quality of education, care and preparation for life for all students, you must be able to contribute to the whole school’s planning of activities - with an emphasis on delivering the curriculum through the environment.
Experience working with young people with high complex needs is preferable, but if you are eager to help vulnerable pupils and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.
You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.
