Chepstow is looking for a full time Learning Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. 

Please note that this is a 1 Year Fixed Term contract.

Working hours are from 8.30 to 3.30 pm, 5 days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate communication and shared play but with awareness of the other children in the group.
Ensure that the child has opportunities to develop their skills as an independent learner. 
Facilitate between school and outside agencies working with the child, ensuring there is effective communication and continuity in approach.
Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and implement programmes provided by external therapists.
Supervise at breaks/lunch/ times
Supervise the child when on the street, trips out or in an unfamiliar environment but with awareness of the other children in the group.
Form good relationships with not only the class teacher but all members of staff.
Ensuring that safety measures are met by closing the exterior doors and gates at the end of the session before sending or escorting children in a quiet and organised manner to class.
Being constantly aware of the children and not being distracted by other activities which could lead to negligence.
To contribute fully to the extra curricular activities and life of the school

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Have an enhanced DBS and prohibition order clearance

· Be aware of and follow the safeguarding, Prevent Duty, anti-bullying and behaviour and discipline policies of the school.
