Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team and make a positive difference to the lives of our young people.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who have experienced exclusion, disruption, trauma, and disadvantage. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where students can rebuild their confidence, engage with learning, and achieve their potential.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality support both in and out of the classroom, helping to remove barriers to learning and enabling students with a range of needs - including SEND and SEMH - to access the curriculum successfully. You will play an important role in promoting positive relationships, encouraging independence, and supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.
We are looking for someone who:
Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
Has experience of working with children or young people, ideally in an educational, SEND, or pastoral setting.
Can build positive, trusting relationships with students and colleagues.
Is resilient, patient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
Shares our commitment to inclusion, high expectations, and safeguarding.
We offer:
A welcoming, supportive, and highly collaborative staff team.
Comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development.
Opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career within alternative provision.
A commitment to staff wellbeing and a positive working environment.
The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable young people every day.
If you are committed to helping every young person succeed, regardless of the barriers they have faced, we warmly welcome your application.
Completed applications should be emailed to admin-regents@newregents.hackney.sch.uk.
