Other children may have difficulties associated with social, emotional and behavioural needs. Many children have a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition.

Experience of working with children in a school setting is not essential. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for working with children and who will be quick to learn and develop their skills. This role could suit a graduate keen to gain experience in a school before moving on to train as a teacher, speech and language therapist or similar role.

Our School

Alexandra School is a fully inclusive primary school that specialises in supporting pupils aged 4–11 with complex, moderate learning disabilities, sometimes associated with behavioural, emotional, social, communication, physical or sensory needs.

Our pupils learn best alongside their peers, engaging in social learning in small groups, within a stimulating environment.

Adaptations can be made seamlessly for pupils who require lower stimulation at times in order to re-regulate in readiness to learn.

Alexandra School caters for pupils who may experience a range of cognitive, communication, and social and emotional difficulties which would make placement in a mainstream setting too challenging for the child.

The school offers full-time places for all its pupils.

Alexandra School serves the Harrow community and as such, reflects the ethnic diversity of the local population.

Alexandra School is a member of the Eden Academy Trust, a family of schools that specialise in meeting the educational needs of children and young people with a range of learning difficulties.
