The Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), formed on 1 April 2019 and delivers post 16 education in Hereford, Stourbridge and Worcester. Hereford Sixth Form College is part of this Trust. The MAT has an annual budget of £28m and serves the needs of 5,500 students across the region.
Hereford Sixth Form College has over 2000 full-time 16-19 students and an excellent reputation for its results and extra-curricular provision. Rated Ofsted outstanding in 2007; the College consistently achieves one of the highest Advanced Level points scores per entry of over 100 SFC’s nationally and has outstanding value-added results as measured by both the ALIS and ALPS systems.
The Learning Support Department currently has a team of dedicated professionals including 3 assessors, a Study Skills Mentor, a mentor for Students on the Autistic Spectrum and 4 Learning Support Assistants. Together we provide assessment, mentoring and classroom support across the College.
We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join the department as a Learning Support Assistant, providing in class support for named students. This is a temporary two year contract to 31st August 2024, term time only.
You should:
• Have experience of working at secondary school level or above
• Have good organisational skills
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with students and be sympathetic to the needs of students
• Enjoy working with 16-18 year olds
• Have excellent communication skills
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Promote independent learning skills
