Learning Support Assistants – High Oaks
Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. We have a Primary school (New Oaks) and a Secondary school (High Oaks). We are based across two different sites with both our school buildings offering state of the art facilities for our students.
Due to our continued expansion, we are looking for enthusiastic learning support assistants to join Secondary school, working with students that have PMLD, autism, and complex needs. As well as being calm and patient, you will need good team working skills and be passionate about supporting students with special educational needs. Applicants must be physically fit and willing to undertake all aspects of personal care including toileting and feeding. We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint individuals who share this belief. We have a Primary school (New Oaks), and a Secondary school (High Oaks). We are based across two different sites with both our school buildings offering state of the art facilities for our students and we serve a socially and ethnically diverse population, with children coming from within Hounslow and the surrounding Boroughs.

Can you make a difference to children and young people’s lives? We have opportunities for people who wish to develop a career working with students with learning disabilities.

Oaklands secondary school moved to its current location in 2018 and boasts excellent facilities to provide a secondary and preparing for adulthood curriculum. Facilities include a sports centre, which is hired during evenings and weekends and outside term time under a planning condition.
Oaklands holds both an Ofsted Outstanding grade and also an advanced level accreditation from the National Autistic Society.
At Oaklands we aim to work closely with Hounslow’s special educational needs department to provide for the needs of Hounslow borough and are strongly committed to meeting the needs of Hounslow’s children and young people. We work with a school partnership established with schools in 3 boroughs, and with the Hounslow Education partnership. Oaklands provides training to a range of local provisions.
