Your Main Responsibilities

·         Support pupils with a range of learning needs to access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

·         Work alongside teachers to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities.

·         Provide one-to-one, small group, and whole-class support.

·         Encourage independence, confidence, and positive attitudes to learning.

·         Assist with classroom preparation and adapt resources as needed.

·         Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and positive behaviour in line with school policies.

·         Monitor progress and share feedback to aid planning and assessment.

·         Support pupils’ social and emotional development.

·         Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school trips where required.

·         Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.

 

About You : We are looking for someone who has:

·         A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

·         Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.

·         Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and encourage learners.

·         Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Flexibility and adaptability to meet a variety of needs.

·         Commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing.

 

Desirable:

·         Previous experience working with children or young people.

·         Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).

Sackville School, founded in 1987, is a secondary coeducational school for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18. It is an independent school located in Hildenborough, Tonbridge, Kent owned by Alpha Schools Limited which is one of the largest operators of independent schools in the UK.  At present, there are around 130 students enrolled. This includes 95 boys and 35 girls. The government has labelled the premises as a historical park.

The school promotes individuality and values every student. It aims to give every child an excellent education. The children are encouraged to develop new skills with the support from excellent teachers. They are taught to have a positive outlook on learning, to be respectful of others and have good manners. Strict rules have been implemented to make sure pupils behave well. Wearing a school uniform, for example, will help them understand how to conduct themselves in the workplace.

Pupils are known as individuals; their talents are fostered and they receive the appropriate challenge and support to make the maximum progress in their academic subjects. All have the opportunity to study a broad and balanced curriculum, though this is tailored to suit individual needs at GCSE level. Pupils’ performance at GCSE level has been good, and in the past three years results have improved. Pupils are making good progress in relation to their abilities.”
