Job overview
Hillyfield Primary Academy is an Outstanding school (Ofsted 2015) in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and is currently looking to appoint a full- time Learning Support Assistant.
The successful candidate will be expected to address the needs of children who require support in overcoming barriers to learning and/or behaviour in order to achieve their full potential. Any previous experiences of working with children requiring a high level of support at school would be advantageous but not essential.

Hillyfield Primary Academy is a seven-form entry school for pupils aged 2-11 in Walthamstow, East London. The school is split across two sites a mile apart, Hillyfield on the Hill and Hillyfield at the Park. The new Park site provides facilities for extra Reception and key stage 1 classes. Hillyfield is a larger-than-average primary, with 1,200 children currently on roll and plans to add another 400.

The school motto is "Brilliance in every child. Excellence every day". Hillyfield values respect, responsibility and good behaviour in its students, helping to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The curriculum is tailored towards giving children valuable formative experiences that will shape their later childhood. Staff encourage children to become critical, independent thinkers.
Art is a focus of the school, and an activity which the children can greatly enjoy. Hillyfield is also a registered Sing Up school, which gives it access to resources aimed at improving and maintaining vocal performance among pupils.
