Job overview

Join The JCB Academy as a Learning Support Assistant (Learner Specific) and help change lives by developing the engineers and business leaders of the future.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to join us in August 2025. You will provide support for a specific learner with special educational/physical needs so that they are fully included within the academy community and are able to access the curriculum and make progress. You will also provide personal care for the learner when required and work with other professionals in supporting the specific learner.

This is a term time only role and your working pattern will be Monday to Friday 8:20am-3:55pm.

The JCB Academy specialises in engineering and business, teaching learners from Y9 to Sixth Form and providing Intermediate (L2) and Advanced (L3) apprenticeship programmes as well as an Engineering T‑Level. Our approach pairs classroom learning with practical application, and we have an impressive range of world-class industry partners who help with that. JCB, of course, but also including Bosch Rexroth, Harper Adams University, Rolls-Royce and Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Names that can turn heads with learners and lock in their learning engagement.

We offer a benefits package which includes an Employee Assistance Programme (financial guidance, legal enquiries, counselling, support for issues at home and at work); access to Blue Light Card, the UK’s leading discount provider for teachers, emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces; salary sacrifice cycle scheme; interest free financing through BHN Extras to buy the latest technology through salary deductions, discounted shopping and discounted gift cards and eGifts; access to JCB’s dental scheme (monthly fee); access to the academy’s gym; long service awards (time off and financial rewards) starting at five years; paid time off for birthdays; paid time off for partner’s/child’s significant birthdays. Plus, wherever possible we aim to give our teaching staff the opportunity to work from home during PPA time.
