Job Description  

Post: Learning Support Assistant 

Hours & Weeks:  10 hours per week, term time only (with flexibility during times of business need, full time hours during the four weeks which cover enrolment and the start of term) 39 weeks per year. 

Designation: Support Staff Contract 

Starting Salary: Sixth Form Support Staff Scale point 13 14 £14,778 - £15,242 (Pro rata equivalent is £3,237 - £3,339) 

Responsible to: Head of Curriculum Support 

Purpose: To assist the work of the Head of Curriculum Support.  

Key Duties: 

• Provide support to individuals and small groups. 

• Support the Head of Curriculum Support to complete appropriate assessments to identify needs. 

• To agree appropriate outcomes with students, monitor, report on progress and maintain student records. 

• Plan, create and source relevant resources to support the learning and progress of students, 

• Contribute to a supportive learning environment. 

• Support the Head of Curriculum Support to ensure access arrangements are implemented for relevant students. 

• Work collaboratively with curriculum and support staff to provide high quality support within programmes of study. 

• Liaise with parents and / or external agencies as required. 

• Working to deliver, and contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where appropriate. 

• Attend relevant meetings. 

• Keep up to date with learning support initiatives. 

• Adhere to any other reasonable request.
