Due to the successful internal appointment of our current Maths LSA to a full time teaching position, we now have the following vacancy and welcome applications from prospective new staff prepared to share in the experience of school improvement:
Have you finished 6th Form/University and are thinking of a career in teaching or education?
Are you considering a gap year to gain experience in working with young people to help you embark on the next steps of your career?
Or are you currently an LSA or wanting to become an LSA and specialise in Maths?
Have you got grade C or equivalent in English at GCSE?
Have you got grade B or equivalent in Maths at GCSE?
Learning Support Assistant Level 3
29 hours per week, term time only
Salary Scale Point: 16-19 (dependent on experience)
FTE: £18,319-£19,446 (this will be pro-rated in line with Academy terms & conditions)
We are looking for an individual who will be proactive, well organised, a team player and have good classroom management. The successful candidate will support the raising of standards and progress in Maths.
Main responsibilities in Maths will include:
- Teaching Year 9 & 10 intervention groups working towards Level 4/5 (Grade C/B legacy) at GCSE level
- Planning and designing appropriate resources
- Supporting individuals requiring support to meet targets
- Working with the maths department to improve outcomes for students
Previous experience of working in a KS2, 3 or 4 school environment is desirable but not essential.
