Due to continual expansion and internal restructuring, the academy is seeking a creative and experienced teaching assistant to work with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

You will be responsible for supporting the lead of the learning support facilities with providing care and support to individual students through planned and differentiated activities.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children and young people with SEND or SEMH needs
  • Be able to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents
  • Have experience of working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Be committed to prioritising the needs of the students in all that you do

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering general classroom support to carry out directed learning activities
  • Providing support to individual students through planned and differentiated activities
  • Assisting with students’ personal, behavioural and social development through appropriate advice and guidance

 

As Learning Support Assistant, you will join a growing and supportive team in addition to:

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips.
