Salary: LBR Grade 2
35 hours per week, term time only
Actual gross salary £16,420 per annum
The LSA will be required to offer support to pupils with a range of complex special educational needs. Candidates must be graduates and have a GCSE qualification in English and Mathematics and will be required to have very good spoken English and experience of working in schools.
Your duties may vary but you will be required to:
- Implement agreed strategies that enable pupils to cope with communication and emotional difficulties;
- Use effective, agreed behavior strategies to support pupils with emotional difficulties;
- Support the learning programme for demanding pupils;
- Support groups of children within the classroom as directed by the SEN Coordinator;
- Remain calm and positive even when a pupil’s behavior can be challenging;
- Keep records on the child you support;
- Liaise with the SENCO, class teacher, parents and other agencies when necessary;
- Be flexible;
- Carry out other support duties required by the Headteacher.

This is a full time post on a fixed term contract initially until July 2018, subject to annual review.
