We currently have a vacancy within our teaching team for a Learning Support Assistant.  The successful candidate will be a key member of our team, providing standards of person-centred learning support and care to our service users. 

Through your enthusiasm, creativity and caring approach, you will develop effective working relationships with students, promote learning, encourage positive interactions and build students’ resilience.

Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as a comprehensive induction, full training and support will be provided.

Our Learning Support Assistants provide educational, emotional and personal support to our students.  The successful candidate will contribute to the assessment and progress setting and tracking of the students.  Other duties include supporting the class teacher in the preparation of resources and lessons as well as delivery of some lessons and other school activities.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of students
  • Promoting and celebrate diversity
  • Supporting the class teacher with preparation, delivery and assessment of learning activities
  • Supporting positive interactions between students
  • Liaising with therapy staff and act upon guidance
  • Communicating with parents, carers and professionals
  • Actively contributing to the on-going development of the school.

You will need to have a commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of our students, be resilient when working with students that present significant challenges but above all, be enthusiastic and optimistic about improving the outcomes of our young people.

Kingsbrook School is a school for students with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and complex learning needs.  It is for 11-18 year olds, day and residential with a maximum school capacity of 12 students.

Kingsbrook School is a specialist residential mixed gender therapeutic school for students aged 12 to 18 years with complex needs. These include mental health and associated difficulties, for example, behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Some of our young people will also have developed specific needs due to a range of factors including trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder or attachment disorder.

We support up to a total of 15 young people consisting of 7 day students and 8 individuals living in residential accommodation on-site at our children’s home. We are a Norfolk-based school, situated approximately 15 miles from Norwich City.
