About the Role
Take Learning Beyond the Classroom and Help Young People Reconnect with Education.
At Fieldstone School, we’re looking for a positive, adaptable and resilient Learning Support Assistant - Outreach to support students who may need a different approach to engage successfully with their education.
This isn't a role where every day is spent in the same classroom. You’ll support students both on-site and across outreach settings, including students’ homes, alternative provisions and community environments, creating learning opportunities that work around their individual needs.
Working under the guidance of the Outreach Lead and Deputy Principal, you’ll build trusting relationships with students, provide consistency and encouragement and help them develop the confidence and skills they need to overcome barriers and move forward.
For someone who enjoys variety, building relationships and finding creative ways to engage young people, this is an opportunity to make a difference where your support may be needed most.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support students both on-site and in outreach settings, including homes, alternative provisions and community locations
Help plan and deliver personalised learning activities for individual students and small groups
Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage students to re-engage with education and recognise their potential
Create calm, structured and supportive learning environments wherever learning takes place
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, resilience and greater independence
Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and assessments
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide consistent support around individual needs
Champion inclusion, safeguarding and student welfare across every environment in which you work
What we are looking for
We’re looking for someone who can combine patience and empathy with flexibility and resilience.
You’ll bring:
A full, clean UK driving licence
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Experience working with relevant age groups within an educational or learning environment
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
The confidence to work across different locations and adapt your approach to individual students
Experience of general administrative or clerical tasks and maintaining accurate records
Training or knowledge of relevant curriculum or learning strategies
The flexibility to respond positively to changing situations and priorities
About Us
Fieldstone School is an independent day school supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5–16—students who may struggle to access mainstream education for a variety of reasons. These can include behavioural, emotional, or educational challenges, difficulties associated with the autistic spectrum, sensory processing disorders, attachment difficulties, or experiences of trauma.
We are committed to ensuring that every student reaches their full potential academically and personally. As a day school, we provide an alternative to residential education, helping students develop independence, social skills, and resilience while remaining in their home environment.
Fieldstone School operates in line with Devon County Council’s Section 175 safeguarding requirements, demonstrating our commitment to the safety and welfare of all students.
At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the sixth year running.
Why Join Us?
We place students and vulnerable young adults at the heart of everything we do, so every day brings the satisfaction of making a real difference. We’re passionate about providing our students with the right support, care, and educational framework to enable them to flourish.
Co-founded by Mark Escott in 2014, School for Inspiring Talents was established to meet the needs of children slipping through the net of mainstream schools. Our innovative therapeutic approach to education has enabled us to support a growing number of young people, and their families, who have had difficult childhood experiences.
Based across two sites in South Devon, School for Inspiring Talents was the first school in the UK to be awarded the Trauma and Mental Health Informed Schools Award by Trauma Informed Schools (TIS) UK.
As a trauma informed school, our mental health approach to education and wellbeing provides a measurable evidence base of impact; training staff to support vulnerable children through therapeutic conversations, and working with parents to support mentally healthy cultures at home.
