Values and Vision
University technical colleges are a new type of school in which the curriculum is geared heavily towards employability and skills. UTC Reading is heavily focused on engineering and computer science, providing a high-quality curriculum in co-operation with industry partners. The school works closely with a number of external bodies such as the University of Reading, Microsoft and Network Rail. This is intended to ensure that students are able to maximise their employability and relevance in the modern workplace. Although engineering and computer science are the main focuses of the school, UTC Reading does still offer a strong wider curriculum with subjects such as humanities and languages.
