Ifield Community College is looking to appoint a part time Learning Support Assistant to work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN and EAL pupils within a classroom environment. Providing specialist assistance to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple difficulties and /or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals or small groups of SEN / EAL students and will have knowledge of behaviour training techniques, developing and delivering learning activities for pupils with additional SEN / EAL needs. You should also have Level 3 National Qualifications, a good standard of numeracy, literacy and ICT skills and have experience of planning and developing learning activities that respond to the needs of individual students. Experience of using bespoke computerised student data recording software is desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
We have recently been judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and have excellent facilities in a state of the art building, which is situated in a pleasant location only 30 minutes to both Croydon & Brighton, by rail or car.

Ifield Community College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in West Sussex serving students from the ages of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Crawley has approximately 1,020 students on role.
Ifield Community College was established in 1966, with a new school building opening in the centre of campus in 2005. The secondary school has a broad range of sporting faciltiies, including a fitness suite, tennis courts and a large playing field.
