Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks term time.
Salary Range: Grade 4 Points 7 – 11, (£22369 to £24054 per annum)
Actual Salary: £18067 - £19428 per annum
Penistone Grammar School has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant with the enthusiasm and drive to join a developing and pioneering department and contribute to its ongoing success. You will be a Learning Support Assistant who has the determination and enthusiasm to make a difference in the life of each and every student you work with. You will share our vision and will have the ability to inspire our young people to achieve more than they believe is possible.

Our learning support assistants work with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities which may include social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), physical, learning difficulties, medical and communication difficulties. We celebrate our differences and encourage our students to thrive despite their barriers. We support them holistically - academically and pastorally in both the mainstream classroom setting and small group work.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with students with a variety of needs and will be excited at the opportunity of developing their career. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to use their initiative in order to put students and their needs first. We are particularly excited to hear from candidates with experience of working in both primary and/or secondary school settings, or candidates who are ready for this next step on their career path.

Penistone Grammar School really is a special place to work. There’s no doubt that our amazing student body of 1900 students, including 300 Post 16 students, and our state-of-the-art building set in beautiful surroundings, make coming to work worthwhile.
