Your opportunity

Salfords Primary School are looking to recruit for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs.

Ideally you will have experience of working within schools or with children and be passionate about children’s learning and development.

The successful candidate will work alongside and support the Class Teacher and wider education team in making a positive impact specifically with the 1:1 support and in general on the curriculum.

This particular vacancy is for 25 hours per week, working alongside a child in year 6 supporting with social, emotional and mental health needs.

What we are looking for

  • Be able to develop positive relationships with young children.
  • Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour.
  • Have experience of working with children on the autism spectrum
  • Be able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting
  • Commitment to SENBe a confident and a clear communicator with parents.
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team.

The Details

This is a part-time term time only post.

Salary FTE: £17,900 - £21,000

Pro Rata: £10,693- £12,545

Hours of work: 25 hours per week,  between Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3.15pm (except Thursdays 8.15am – 3.15pm)

Interview date – Week commencing 22nd February 2021
