About us

We are the Lead School for the Weydon Multi Academy Trust, comprising of ourselves, Woolmer Hill School, The Ridgeway School, The Abbey School, Rodborough and Farnham Heath End School. The close proximity of these schools allows lots of opportunities for staff collaboration.
The Times frequently rates Weydon School in the top 10 across the UK for 11–16 schools, and achievements are exceptional. It has been said that we have grammar school outcomes and independent sector facilities; our ongoing and recent successes clearly demonstrate this.

About Weydon School
Weydon School is located in the beautiful market town of Farnham, Surrey, about an hour from both London and the coast. With just over 1600 students aged 11-16, it is one of the most sought after schools in the county. Over the last decade, the school has had huge investment which has resulted in world class facilities including a theatre, two all-weather pitches, a high-tech teaching area and modern learning resource centre.
Weydon School became an Academy in 2011 and a multi-academy trust, called WMAT in 2017. We are a National Support school, SSAT schools network consultant school, a Maths Hub and also host a SCITT working with more than 50 teacher trainees each year. All these bring exciting opportunities for both staff and students.
Our students achievements are impressive. We were ranked first in the county and 3rd in the country for state secondary schools without a sixth form by the Sunday Times, based on our 2024 GCSE results; 49% of our students achieved at least 5 GCSE grades 9 – 7 and 96% of students go onto further education with many going to Oxbridge.
Our school was awarded Ofsted ‘outstanding’ for quality of education and personal development and SSAT has recognised our teaching practices as ‘amongst the most exceptional nationally’.
Our staff are a close knit team, supported by Governors and parents. They are dedicated and hard working with a genuine desire to make a difference. The benefits are excellent and include health and wellbeing, staff discounts, financial benefits and advice, social events and professional development.
We would be delighted to show you around in person. Please find contact details in the job pack to arrange a tour.
About Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT)
In 2017, when a group of local headteachers wanted to work together to create even better opportunities for their students and staff, the Trust was formed.
There are currently 12 schools in the Trust – five special schools (The Abbey School, The Park School, The Ridgway, Clifton Hill and Brooklands School) together with five secondaries (Farnham Heath End, Rodborough, Weydon, Woolmer Hill School and Frogmore Community College) and now two Primaries, (Crondall and Beacon Hill Primary School). As a Trust, we are very positive about the difference we are making. As individual schools it is important that we retain the local context and identity of our unique academies, however we are ‘Stronger Together’ and joining our Trust means that you will also have the benefit of working with colleagues across the MAT. The benefits of working together and the support that you will receive will ensure that, in your career with WMAT, you will develop not only the staff you lead or the students you teach but also yourself. Our ambition is clear: to make WMAT a Trust that is outstanding both for the students that learn here and also for the staff that work here. All our academies are full and oversubscribed, a glowing endorsement of our success. Thank you for your interest in this position. We are inspired by the brilliant people who work in our Trust. Why not make an application to be part of a really positive organisation?
