We are currently looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our support staff team and work on a 1-2-1 basis with one or our Year 2 pupils. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual to join our school. With our school thriving this role will be to support one of our pupils as they progress in the school.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join us as a Learning Support Assistant. The main duties will be supporting a pupil who is developmentally delayed and has diagnoses of epilepsy and ASD. The main responsibility will be to help the pupil sustain focus, follow instructions and participate in class activities as well as provide additional support during unstructured times of the school day.

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who will be able to join our excellent team of staff. We would like to hear from you if you;
- Have experience of working with children with a range of learning styles.
- Have experience of working with pupils with ASD.
- Are familiar with the use of strategies to support ASD learners in the classroom.
- Have GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
- Have a qualification as recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning (NOS-STL).
- Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of children.
- Have an interest in how children learn and behave.
- Can be a role model for students both in the classroom and around school
- Genuinely care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
- Have training in aspects of SEND, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism or experience of supporting pupils with those needs
Having in school experience is essential for this position, A whole person approach is also essential along with a desire to build strong relationships with pupils and staff. This position requires someone who is flexible, observant and patient but most importantly someone who is caring and child centred.
