Hammond, part of GLF Schools, is a co-educational day school built in 1979, maintained by Surrey County Council.  The school is named after the 19th century Reverend Hammond who owned the land on which the school is built; his clerical figure is represented on our school logo.

Hammond pupils and staff enjoy working in modern, well-maintained and well-resourced buildings.  The buildings extend to include twelve classrooms, two libraries, specialist teaching rooms for Information Communication Technology (ICT), Food Technology, Music and Physical Education.

The school has a secure, well screened and resourced playground.  A wide variety and large quantity of playground equipment is provided at lunch breaks.  There are sheltered seating bays, housing games tables and providing shaded seating.  These facilities are available to the children both at playtimes and during structured PE and Games lessons.

The outdoor sports facilities span two large playing fields to include pitches, training grids, an athletics track, two jumping pits and a large double-sided ball wall marked for a number of activities. With Lightwater Country Park in very close proximity we are able to regularly use it for the Adventure Playground, cross-country running, orienteering, scientific, creative study as well as many other educational activities.

Hammond boasts a rich, broad and balanced curriculum with a variety of opportunity enhanced by first hand experiences and a full range of educational visits.  Hammond provides learning opportunities for a wide range of abilities and needs which are met through effective provision management.  The present staffing arrangements enable PPA cover to be provided by qualified teachers providing specialist teaching in Music, RE and French.  Setting for Maths and English is provided by having a full time additional teacher.  Our enthusiastic teaching assistant team provides support and encouragement for individuals and groups.
