Cuddington Croft Primary School are looking for a Learning Support Assistant.  Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons, term time only, timings to be discussed at interview.


Cuddington Croft Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant  who will play a key role in individual and small group support for identified children with special educational needs, including medical needs. This will be a part time and temporary (subject to EHCP funding) contract.


Salary: FTE £16,497 - £19,974. Please note the successful candidate will have their salary pro-rata'd down, dependant on the number of hours agreed at interview. 


The successful individual will support the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of the assigned individual, ensuring they attain the targets set for them.


Dealing with the behavioural, communication, social and emotional development of the child is integral to this role.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the children that you are supporting. 
  • Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team, including working closely with parents and outside agencies. 
  • Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve. 
  • Experienced in primary school environments.
  • Experienced in how to observe and assess progression and attainment. 


For those of you who are not familiar with the school, Cuddington Croft is a two-form entry primary school catering for 3 to 11 year olds, with just under 500 children on role.  We are very well resourced having the benefit of an indoor swimming pool, a playing field and numerous IT and curriculum based resources.

About Cuddington Croft Primary School

Cuddington Croft is an all-through 2 Form Surrey Primary School for children aged 3-11 years, including the Nursery Unit. The school is situated in West Drive, Cheam, within a pleasant, residential area in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell. We are significantly oversubscribed due to the high standards our children achieve, the first-rate staff team, and very good OFSTED reports. The school is noted for its excellent SATs results, and regularly features in the top 10 Surrey Primary Schools, and occasionally in the top 200 schools within the country. The majority of children significantly exceed the nationally expected grades in both key stage 1 & 2.
