We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant, with a passion for improving the life chances of young people and the ability to inspire our students. The successful candidate will supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning, and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils across the school. For the right candidate, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain classroom experience and to make a difference to the lives of our pupils.
The successful post holder will have good academic qualifications – a degree in any specialism would be an advantage – and experience of working in an educational setting. A genuine desire to work with young people and to support their education and achievements is essential. Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with SEN experience.
The Learning Support department are a well-established and integral part of the classroom experience at Greenshaw. The department works with students who face challenges in their day-to-day learning experiences. We have a large team of learning support assistants who run small group interventions or support students in their classes. All support is aimed at helping students to become independent learners. Many of our LSAs have gone on to pursue careers in education and teaching, or to study for post-graduate qualifications.
