Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding post and seeking a career in special education in an Outstanding School?

Due to a significant expansion in pupil numbers Moorcroft School is looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join the school from September 2023. Our school is split across two sites; one in Uxbridge and one in Hayes and we are looking for staff to work across the sites in either primary or secondary classes.

Moorcroft is a school for secondary age young people with severe, complex and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and ASD. We are part of Eden Academy Trust with 6 other special schools and are planning to open two new free schools in the next few years. We share our site in Hayes with one of these special schools, Grangewood School and are seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistants both in primary and/or secondary.

We provide a high-quality education for all of our students and have been judged as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

As a learning support assistant you will be supporting a teacher by working with pupils individually and in small groups. There will be opportunities to contribute to cross-school teams both in school and throughout the Academy to help us to develop and improve our provision. There is a wealth of expertise in the Academy with many opportunities for training and professional development both from within the school and across the Trust.

We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking candidates, with a passion for young people with learning difficulties, to join our school team. We are particularly looking for candidates seeking a challenge by working with young people with social and emotional learning difficulties often presented by challenging behaviour.

If you are a graduate looking for a teaching career in special education sometime in the future, please do apply as we can support your professional development after you successfully complete your probation with us and have had a year’s experience working with us. We have recently launched an initiative for graduate teaching assistants where you can gain experience of leading a class before applying for a recognised teacher training course.

We offer a comprehensive and bespoke induction programme for all new staff.

If you would like to discuss this post further, please contact the school by emailing info@moorcroftschool.co.uk. We’d encourage you to visit our school before applying and you can do this by contacting the school on the same email.

Closing date: Monday 26th June 2023 at 12pm at Noon

Shortlisting date: Monday 26th June 2023 from 12.30pm

Interviews date: Thursday 29th/Friday 30th June 2023

Moorcroft School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks.

The Eden Academy Trust may, from time to time, require an employee to be relocated temporarily or permanently to one of its other schools. Any proposal to relocate will be carried out with due consultation and reasonable notice.
