About the role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated Learning Support Assistant to become part of our team at Carleton High School. We are looking for someone with a proactive 'can-do' attitude and a passion for doing whatever it takes. Beyond that, we are looking for an individual who demonstrates the potential to excel in their role.   

The successful candidate will be responsible for:   

  • supporting pupil’s learning and attending to pupils’ personal needs in order to support teaching and learning in the classroom and across the school.  
  • supporting the preparation, planning and implementation of individual and group learning activities and intervention programmes across the school.   
  • There may also be times when you are required to work with pupils who have additional needs.  

 

The role is for 27.5 hours a week, during school terms plus two extra days, adding up to 192 working days a year. It’s a fixed-term contract for 12 months, ending on 31 August 2026.

2025 Edurio Staff Survey

Pontefract Academies Trust has been recognised with the Trust Value Award – Excellence in the 2025 Edurio Awards – placing us among the top 10 performing trusts nationally, based on staff feedback.
