Job overview

This is an opportunity to play a central role in helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
As Learning Support Hub Coordinator, you will lead Dinnington High School’s Learning Support Hub, creating a supportive and purposeful environment where students can build confidence, develop the skills they need to succeed and, wherever possible, successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons.
Working closely with the SENCO, pastoral colleagues and other specialist staff, you will coordinate personalised timetables and targeted interventions for students with a range of academic, social and emotional needs. You will lead the Assess, Plan, Do, Review process for identified students, set meaningful targets, monitor progress and ensure support is tailored to each learner. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with families, contributing evidence for external referrals and EHCP applications, supporting staff to understand individual student needs and continually developing the Hub’s provision.
About you
We are looking for someone with recent experience of working in education and a strong understanding of the barriers that can affect young people aged 11–16. You will understand how students learn and have experience of using appropriate interventions to build confidence, self-esteem and engagement. Just as importantly, you will be an excellent communicator who can build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues, handle sensitive information appropriately and remain organised in a busy environment.
You will bring empathy, resilience and a genuine commitment to improving young people’s life chances. You should be confident working independently as well as collaboratively, flexible in your approach and motivated by the opportunity to create an environment in which students feel they belong, achieve and thrive.
