Learning Support Lead
We are seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, experienced, and above all passionate Learning Support Lead to join our school community. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for Learning Support and Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the school, ensuring inclusive, student-centered practices that enable every learner to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They will be committed to inclusion and have a clear understanding of neurodiversity and individual student needs. This is a middle leadership role requiring strong collaboration, advocacy, and a commitment to wellbeing and inclusion.
Responsibilities:
Development and Implementation of SEN Programmes
Design, develop, and implement specialized and individualized learning support programmes tailored to the diverse learning needs of students.
Ensure Learning Support provision aligns with the school’s educational philosophy and overall academic objectives.
Work closely with school leadership and academic teams to embed inclusive practices across classrooms.
Stay up to date with current research, legislation, and best practices in SEN, Neurodiversity and inclusive education, continuously improving provision.
Individual Learning Passports
Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Individual Learning Passports for students with SEN or additional needs.
Ensure plans are student-centred, realistic, measurable, and aligned with individual strengths and needs.
Monitor student progress, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and adjust plans as required.
Ensure teachers and support staff understand and implement ILPs consistently.
Student Support and Advocacy
Act as a strong advocate for neurodiverse students and those with SEN, ensuring their needs are recognized, respected, and appropriately supported.
Support teachers and parents in addressing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
Guide families through referral processes and external assessments where appropriate.
Liaise with external professionals and agencies (e.g. therapists, psychologists, specialists) to coordinate additional support services.
Data Analysis, Reporting & Compliance
Collect, analyse, and interpret data related to student progress, interventions, and programme effectiveness.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and well-organised student records in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
Prepare reports for school leadership, highlighting trends, outcomes, areas of concern, and recommendations for improvement.
Contribute data-informed insights to strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.
Leadership and Team Management
Provide effective leadership and line management to Learning Support teachers and School Counsellors.
Foster a collaborative, supportive, and reflective team culture.
Coordinate timetables, caseloads, and resource allocation within the Learning Support department.Conduct performance reviews, offer coaching and feedback, and support ongoing professional growth.
Collaborative Partnerships & Professional Development
Collaborate closely with Academic Leaders, teachers, administrators, and support staff to build a holistic student wellbeing framework.
Develop strong partnerships with parents, encouraging open communication and active involvement in their child’s learning journey.
Design and deliver professional development sessions on Neurodiversity, SEN, disability, inclusion, differentiation, and student wellbeing.
Equip staff with strategies to identify early concerns and implement inclusive classroom practices.
Whole-School Culture
Lead or contribute to school-wide awareness campaigns, inclusion initiatives, and peer mentoring programmes.
Keep up to date with research or the latest developments in the areas of different learning needs and SEND.
Promote a culture of belonging, respect, equity, and inclusion across the school community.
Support transitions between year groups and key stages, particularly for students with additional needs.
Safeguarding and Child Protection
Be a member of Safeguarding and Child Protection Committee
Requirements
A recognised Degree in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Learning Support, or School Counselling (essential) or similar.
Proven Middle Leadership experience within a school setting.
Strong knowledge of SEN frameworks, inclusive practices, and student wellbeing.
A positive, solution-focused attitude toward challenging situations.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to school culture.
Fluency in English (spoken and written
Desirable (Added Value)
Experience in international, IB, Montessori, Waldorf or holistic education settings.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals.
Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding in the education sector

Our Campus
Currently we are operating in a temporary campus, opened in September 2022 which includes 3 areas: Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary School as well as outdoor sport courts, playgrounds, canteen, 2 art studios, 2 music rooms and 2 libraries.
