Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Officer who is well-read, and passionate about the English subject to join our strong English department. A new school, occupying purpose built, state of the art buildings and facilities, South Bank UTC opened in September 2016 and specialises in STEM subjects for 14-19 year olds.  

We offer a forward thinking, innovative curriculum built on high academic standards, learning in a technical context, close links to employer and university partners and a professional environment. London South Bank University is our main sponsor and we are co-sponsored by Skanska UK, King's College NHS Trust and Guys & St Thomas' NHS Trust who support our work closely in offering real-life employer projects, developing authentic, contextualised learning. 

We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with young people to motivate and inspire the best out of them.  The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the work of the teaching team in driving attainment and achievement by working in small groups or on a one to one basis with students who require additional support. The successful candidate should have a keen interest in English literature, language and strong literacy skills.
