An exciting opportunity for dedicated and experienced Additional Learning Support Practitioners has arisen in one of the country’s largest colleges.


With a turnover of £65m annually, the College Group services c.12, 000 learners each year from a diverse variety of backgrounds. With state-of-the-art facilities, Beacon status, Gold Investors in People status and an excellent purpose-built estate across the city, the College is home to ground breaking innovation and involved in a wide variety of exciting new developments across the city and the wider educational landscape.


The successful candidate will contribute to achieving excellence in supporting students through innovative and excellent practice. You will be expected to support students of all ages with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities (moderate learning difficulties, physical/mental/ sensory/specific learning difficulties/disabilities to name a few).


The purpose of support is to remove barriers to learning and access, improving participation and achievements, fostering confidence and independence among students. You will be expected to offer effective and consistent support to students at all levels, enabling them to reach their full potential.


The successful candidate will be educated to at least Level 2 or above ( in relevant field) and have proven relevant experience of supporting students in an educational setting coupled with knowledge and understanding of disabilities and/or learning difficulties.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.

That’s not to say our college doesn’t offer its own fair share of experiences. Within the 5 locations the following are available;
