We embed the ethos of the Trust: “To live life to the full in pursuit of that which is good, right and true” and are passionate about social equality within our community. “Pupils understand expectations and appreciate the positive environment. Teachers treat pupils as individuals, and pupils welcome this. Pupils feel confident to ‘be themselves’ in this inclusive community” (Ofsted, 2022). Following Ofsted in December 2022, we are looking to expand our PE department to continue in our journey of excellence, working to support and develop opportunities for our students within our community.
We are seeking a self-motivated, supportive and inspiring teacher who has experience in curriculum planning and delivery of PE across Key Stages 3 – 4 (Key Stage 5 is desirable but not necessary). You are an outstanding teacher who is passionate about your subject and able to inspire and motivate students to learn. Your passion for PE is demonstrated in your daily work and you are willing to contribute to wider curriculum opportunity for students to further engage and support them in the subject.
The successful candidate will be joining a popular Key Stage 5 subject providing opportunity for A Level teaching. You would be joining a well-established and cohesive team of colleagues, with good links across other schools as part of the Mercian Academy Trust, with excellent opportunities for development.
The Academy is looking for someone who has:
· Excellent subject knowledge in PE;
· A track record of inspiring students in PE, enabling them to achieve outstanding results;
· Inspiring and creative ideas to make PE subjects accessible to a range of abilities;
· The ability to understand and work with assessment data to monitor and intervene as appropriate with students.
· A background in A Level PE would be an advantage but not necessary.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Teaching PE across Key Stages 3-5;
· Responsibility for adding value to every learner in each teaching group benchmarked against national criteria and data;
· Delivering, planning and preparing lessons in accordance with the planned curriculum;
· Contribution to curriculum design within PE;
· Working as part of an exceptional team that ensures creative and innovative learning and teaching occurs in every lesson;
· Being a Form Tutor.

About Q3 Academy Tipton
A Welcome Message from our Headteacher
I am delighted that you are looking for information about Q3 Academy Tipton. Our mission is to be incredible in everything that staff and our students do, with students: knowing more, doing more, achieving more. We are proudly a comprehensive and community school and we acknowledge the wide variety in diversity and opportunity this provides us. We celebrate each child for their individualities in preparing them to ‘live life to the full’. With approximately 1600 students from ages 11-19, we are proudly a school of choice. We constantly work to be pioneering and relevant, introducing strategies and initiatives which support closing gaps for all students in order for them to achieve their own ‘incredible’.
All of our work is underpinned by our four values which run through everything we do like letters through a stick of rock:
Ambition: The desire to be incredible; to want more for yourself and others and not choose the easiest option.
Kindness: Incredible support and manners for everybody and everything around you
Resilience: The ability and hard work to keep going even when things are more challenging, to achieve ‘incredible’.
Respect: The understanding and acceptance that others may have different views and goals.
These four values uphold our focus on ‘Academic Rigour’ as we support and challenge students to achieve incredible things in all of their learning, particularly the ambition by not choosing the easiest option and resilience in working hard to achieve it. Academic Rigour provides 7 aspects for us to develop: critical thinking, active learning, meaningful content, appropriate challenge, healthy struggle, thinking harder, achieve more independently.
Our curriculum is broad and challenging and provides opportunities for all students to be successful and find their ‘incredible’, building on prior learning from Primary school and preparing them for life beyond school. Alongside our supportive, yet challenging curriculum we offer many extra-curricular and wider opportunities to support students’ development and experiences beyond the academic. We unashamedly expect the highest of standards from all members of our community and hold our students to account by being: kind, ambitious, resilient and respectful.
