Job overview

About this Role

This is an incredible opportunity for a Learning Support Professional (LSP) to make a difference and join a great team of people within a supportive, values-led organisation for in the secondary provision.

As an LSP at Ormiston Bridge Academy, you will have the unique opportunity to ignite creativity and foster self-expression in learners who may have faced challenges in more traditional educational settings. You will work with teachers, support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan.

About Ormiston Bridge Academy

The main provision at Bridge is for secondary learners, but we have primary provision on site, along with a managed intervention centre and outreach service. Our learners are at risk of, or have been excluded from mainstream settings. We serve the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. We believe that success for our young people comes because of our specialist approach; we are interested in activities that develop all young people’s capabilities; their potential for employability; their ability to have successful healthy relationships; their ability to make safe life choices, enhancing their quality of life and the realisation of their aspirations.

Our approach considers our young people’s education experiences to date, their social-emotional health, their mental health, their family situation and experiences, and their special educational needs (SEN). We work closely with professionals, families, and other practitioners to affect change in our young people’s lives, ensuring our work is holistic and therefore creates success by any means for all our children. We are proud of the work that we do, and the environment of our school is caring supportive, and inclusive. We believe that through this approach we support our children, enhancing their quality of life and promoting the realisation of their aspirations.

“Pupils enjoy coming to Ormiston Bridge. Staff work closely with pupils. They find out about their needs and the barriers to learning they may have had at their previous schools. Pupils said that they know the staff cares about them and their well-being.”
