St Joseph’s, Stanthorpe, has been meeting the spiritual and educational needs of young people of the Stanthorpe district for more than 140 years. Our school focuses on the holistic development of every child through a unique pastoral care structure, a diverse curriculum, and contemporary facilities and resources. St Joseph’s has been recongnised as the first P-12 Visible Learning+ certified school in Australia and the first Visible Learning+ certified school in Queensland.

The Learning Support Teacher provides direct and indirect support to students, teachers, and parents​/carers.

The role will see you

  • provide support to the classroom/subject teacher(s) in the form of Planning for Personalised Learning: appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, resourcing, and recording of programs for students either individually, in small groups, on a withdrawal basis or in class settings
  • provide support through consultancy to school personnel, parents, and other agencies
  • advise the Principal concerning the acquisition, development, and provision of suitable resources and programs
  • liaise with relevant colleagues and other members across the Diocese at periods of transition in students’ education
  • ensure your professional skills and knowledge are abreast of curriculum developments, current teaching practices, and education.

Candidates with proven experience in a similar learning support role will be highly regarded. Desirable for the candidate to have qualifications in Special Education.
